I did anything I could think of! I babysat I made a pair of earrings I made a bracelet and went through books at my house to give to good will. I was really busy so I did whatever came to mind I didn’t really plan anything. I got a lot of help from my mom she tried to find things that I could do, like one time at my brothers soccer game there’s this little girl about 4 years old I usually babysit her for no cost but my mom paid me anyways. When I first got money I looked at it like it was gold although it was only 6 bucks. I’m thinking how if some friends work together they can change the world!
Kiva reflection:

For my Kiva project I sold some of my wands that I made a year ago. My mom also cooked some home baked goods like little brownie bites and slices of zucchini bread. I made a sign that advertised my wands. I met Mark right in front of Lucky’s and we set up shop under the awning. Mark had made some home made rice crispy treats and home made soaps that looked almost edible. I sold four of my wands and a some goods. Mark and I also played the guitar right there too and some people stopped to watch.

My mom did help me by making the zucchini bread and brownies. She helped me find a box to keep the money.

When I got my first funds I was thinking that this might work out after all and it might be successful.

Now that I have earned money for people who really need it, I feel proud that I have helped people in need and will make the world a better place.

I went around the house doing extra chores around the house. I planned to do chores around the house for a month to try and get twenty-five dollars in total. I made a slash on the white board that we have every time I did a chore. The chores I did was doing the dishes, folding laundry, and picking up after my siblings.

I did not need any help from my parents or from adults.

The feeling I had was the feeling of success when I got my first funds. I thought about what the grand total of money I would get for the project.

I am thinking about what person I am going to give it to and the feeling of touching that “lend $25” button.
Kiva Fund results

I had a lemonade stand to raise money for Kiva, and it was really fun. I decided to do it on a very hot day- Saturday. I knew I would have to go to a place swarming with toddlers, little kids who would beg their parents for lemonade and parents who would buy it for them just to make them shut up. I bought paper cups and plastic pitchers, and went down to JK in the presidio and set up a stand.

My parents purchased the supplies and gave me money for change, and my little sister helped me serve the lemonade. She even made it, I was up making a sign and she surprised me by making almost all of it.

When my first customer bought lemonade, and read my sign and paid $5 for “such a good cause” I was really proud and happy. I felt important, like I was making a difference in the world. I felt even happier when after half an hour we had made $25, which was originally my destination, but went on to make $47, ad then I added some money I had made previously for a total of $52.

I feel very proud to have given an approximate amount of my allowance for 9 weeks (really it would be $54 for 9 weeks) to help someone in a foreign country succeed in his or her business. I will always remember the feeling of triumph when I came home with the money. I hope we, as a class, will make a difference not only in one person’s life, but in the world.
Kiva Reflection

I watered the flowers in our backyard at home and made notebooks out of recycled paper that I made into pulp, put dried flowers into them, and then put them together to raise money for Kiva. To make the recycled paper notebooks I started by getting recycled paper that were printed and written on and shredding it. Then I made it into pulp, put dried flowers into it, and then dried it. Then I put more recycled paper inside and strung it together with extra ribbon I found around.

Since I was watering plants mostly I didn’t really need help, but when I made notebooks my mom sort of helped me by holding the screen you need to use, while I pressed another screen on top of it to squeeze out the water.

When I got my first fund I felt good and a step closer to helping people in other countries that need loans. The first thoughts that crossed my mind were, wow! I actually made money for Kiva!

Now that I am putting money into helping someone who needs to improve they’re lives is awesome.
I did work around the house to raise funds for Kiva. I planned it by noticing if there were any dishes that needed to be done or if the dogs needed to be walked.

I got help from my parents because they helped me see what needed to be done around the house.

When the first funds came into my hands, I felt that I was really making a difference in the world.

Now that I have raised all of my funds, I am wondering whom I will give my money to and how they will use it in their life.

I folded laundry (wasn’t fun), took down the trash (where it smells really bad), vacuumed the entire house (don’t get me started), and cleaned (a lot, too much, nearly died).

I told my mom, gave me chores, I received an un-joyful waste of my time. So, yes, I needed an adults help.

All I thought was: Ugh, I barely survived and all I get is this?! I need an advance.

I guess I think: Well, I’m making a difference. I guess… AWSOME!! I think.

I did chores around the house for kiva funds, the chores that I did where walking my dogs, organizing my closet and cleaning up Halloween decorations from my front yard. I planned on making a lemonade stand but never did it. I never really had much time during the week for raising funds but on the weekends I always had something planned. But on the last weekend that the funds where due I had time so I raised all of my funds in two days.

Since I was doing chores around the house I didn’t need any help unless you count your parents paying you for chores.

When I got my first fund I was happy that I knew that I was helping other people in the world who may not be as lucky as us. The first thoughts that crossed my mind where I’m one-step closer to reaching my goal!

I sold homemade soap to raise money for Kiva. I bought glycerin and molds. I already knew how to make soap so I began. I took many nights to make about 30 or 35 soaps. Then I made a poster, describing what I was selling the soap for. Finally I went to my temple’s bizarre, and sold $85 dollars worth of soap.

I needed help making the soap because it is sort of a complicated system. I didn’t need as much help at the end.

My first thought was that I actually made my goal of $50, then I thought that I really couldn’t wait to use the money to fund someone.

I am really excited to help someone in another country, and this has inspired me to lend on my own time.
