1. On Page 57 McCown says, “Watching all those people work with him (Greg) to build that bridge, it was obvious that they loved him. He operated as one of them.” What do you think he meant by that comment? Give at least two examples of things Greg did to make the Pakistani people love him.
2. Greg continues to encounter challenge after challenge as he attempts to build the school in Korphe. Give an example of a challenge that he encountered and explain what he did to do to overcome it. What quality did his solution demonstrate? Imagine yourself in Greg’s shoes. What would do you think you would have done in that situation?
3. Look at the list below of the qualities of a hero that our Room 9 brainstormed. Pick ONE of the qualities (a different one from last week) that Greg Mortensen has already shown in Chapters 6 – 11. Write a paragraph with at least SIX sentences explaining how Greg has demonstrated the quality you have chosen. Explain with specific examples from the book.
